Un nouveau mot d’ordre
Etre connecté : le nouveau mot d’ordre d’une société de plus en plus interconnectée. L’ « Internet des objets » est en plein boom dans le monde et commence à envahir le quotidien des gaulois. Bientôt ils seront adoptés par tout-un-chacun, de 7 semaines à 77 ans.
La raison ? Les objets connectés deviennent de plus en plus indispensables à ceux qui ne veulent pas seulement vivre, mais vivre bien. Coup de projecteur sur ces nouveaux maîtres.
Les nouveaux maîtres
Ils se nomment : bracelets connectés (Vivifit 2 de Garmin, Up 2 de Jawbone, Loop de Polar, Pulse Ox de Withing, etc.), balances intelligentes (Aria de Fitbit, Libra de Runtastic, Withing WS 50, etc.), tétines à capteur, brosses à dents intelligentes (brosses à dents Oral-B SmartSeries PRO 7000, Kolibree, etc.), fourchette connectée (10SFork de Slow Control), traceurs de sommeil (Sleep Tracker de Beddit, Aura de Withing, etc.), sonnette sans fil avec caméra (Doorbell, B&L, TIMEZON…). Voilà pour les objets connectés les plus proches de notre corps.
Mais il y a aussi tous les objets connectés liés à l’habitat : ampoules, adaptateurs de prise électrique, appareil de gestion du chauffage, détecteurs de fumée, thermostats, serrures, packs de sécurité. Sans parler du lit, des télévisions et des chaînes hifi.
Le prix à payer
Il y a un hic, cependant, pour tous ces objets connectés. S’ils nous permettent d’être mieux connecté avec notre propre corps ou avec notre lieu de vie, ils ont toutefois, pour l’instant, un coût souvent excessif. Ils restent un luxe. Ceci est particulièrement vrai des objets connectés qui rendent notre logement « intelligent ».
Ce n’est pas que ces derniers types d’objets soient si chers que ça en moyenne. Il faut compter, par exemple, entre 60 et 120 euros pour un détecteur de fumée connecté, entre 50 et 220 euros pour un thermostat connecté et entre 500 et 900 euros pour un pack1 de sécurité connecté ; mais seulement 30 euros en moyenne pour un adaptateur de prise électrique connecté.
Mais c’est l’intégration de ces objets dans l’habitat qui nécessite des travaux d’aménagement parfois coûteux (cela pourrait aller jusqu’à 17 000 euros). Si l’on se penche sur la « domotique de luxe », les factures s’envolent et peuvent atteindre jusqu’à 400 000 euros pour les travaux les plus chers.
Si les travaux relatifs à la domotique n’augmentent le coût des logements que de 2 à 3 % en moyenne (ce qui n’est pas grand-chose, finalement, quand on rapporte cet investissement au prix global du bien immobilier), la domotique de luxe peut avoir, elle, des répercussions plus importantes sur le prix du logement : à Cannes, par exemple, certains promoteurs proposent des T3 à 1, 7 millions d’euros pièce !
Les objets connectés liés à la santé : une large palette de prix
Les objets connectés liés à la santé et au bien-être sont parfois bon marché. Par exemple, les bracelets connectés (Activi T de Terraillon ne coûte que 49, 99 euros). Mais les vrais sportifs qui sont obligés de se tourner vers des techniques plus fiables, des montres à GPS intégré, sont parfois obligés de débourser plus : par exemple, il faut près de 500 euros pour acquérir un modèle très performants comme le Polar V800.
Quoi qu’on en dise, la précision et la fiabilité des objets connectés liés à la santé et à la forme continueront d’avoir un coût, en dépit de la démocratisation à venir. Pour rester vraiment connecté, il faudra donc veiller à remplir suffisamment son portefeuille.
